Reviews
1. Champion Power Equipment 75537i Generator with Remote Start
The Champion 75537i is currently one of the most popular inverter generators in the market. It has a dedicated 30 amp RV outlet making it a favorite choice for RV owners.
Its engine provides in total 3100 starting and 2800 running watts of power
This is enough to run a typical 11,000 BTU air conditioner along with a few other smaller items like lights, freezer etc.
The remote start knob works without a flaw. It’s all as easy as pushing the button on the remote control.
You can easily place this generator far away from your RV to minimize the noise and control it from the comforts of your sofa or bed.
Talking about noise, Champion 75337i is also a pretty quiet unit. At 25% load it produces around 58dB of noise. You could compare it to an idling motorbike standing in the distance.
Champion is fully CARB compliant – residents of California can use it without troubles.
The run time is pretty good too and you could expect it to run for up to 8 hours at 50% load.
If there’s anything to complain about is that the wheels are not the highest quality and sometimes get stuck on rough surfaces.
Overall, this is one of the best remote start generators out there. Learn more about in my full review.
- Remote start works very well
- Inexpensive
- Solid engine
- Quiet operation
- RV-ready
- Wheels and some other materials used for finishing are not the highest quality
2. Westinghouse WGen7500DF
Westinghouse makes some of the best generators in the American market. These include a very affordable sucessful inverter generator iGen2200 as well as the extremely popular WGen7500. I’ve personally put the WGen7500 often on my lists of the best portable generators money can buy.
WGen7500DF is its dual-fuel cousin.
It has all the things you could like about WGen7500 and a few other fantastic additions.
First one is obviously the dual-fuel capability which gives you the choice between gas and propane to run it.
I am personally a big fan of dual-fuel generators as they give you more convenience and flexibility in terms of fuel availability. While they cost a bit more to buy, they usually save you quite some money in the long term thanks to the cheaper price of propane.
Second, the generator has a fully functioning remote start.
This is probably the strongest remote start generator I’ve found so far.
WGen7500DF has got 420cc OHV engine delivering up to 9500 starting watts and 7500 rated watts when running on gas.
Propane gives you 8550 of starting wattage and 6750 watts of rated power.
In both cases, this is more than enough power to run several larger home appliances.
If you are looking for a remote start dual fuel generator to serve you as an emergency power source during hurricanes, blizzards etc – then you should have a look at WGen7500DF
- Strong engine
- American manufacturer
- Good for home backup power
- Great price/quality ratio
- Remote start works flawlessly
- Quite heavy and bulky
- Could be a bit quieter
3. Pulsar 4000W Remote Start Generator
Pulsar 4000W is one of the only few inverter generators with remote start available (along with the Champion generators).
Its wireless remote start lets you to control the generator from up to 80 ft away. You can easily switch it on and off while staying indoors.
The generator’s 224cc OHV engine delivers 4000 surge watts and 3500 starting watts of power.
It is reasonably quiet. Depending on the load its sound level oscillates around 63 dB which is below the maximum threshold stipulated by most RV campgrounds.
Pulsar 4000W offers a reasonable selection of outlets including the sough-after 120V 30 amp RV output.
Another strong feature of this remote start generator is its fuel efficiency.
You could expect it to work continuously for up to 15 hours on lower loads.
It offers the parallel capability allowing you to connect another inverter generator for double power. (the parallel kit has to be purchased separately)
Since it is an inverter generator it also produces the clean sine-wave power suitable for charing sensitive portable electronics.
Pulsar 4000W is both CARB and EPA compliant – you can use it in all 50 states.
The only major concern I have with all Pulsar generators including this one is short warranty – only 1-year for parts and labor. This is one thing this otherwise good manufacturer should improve on to give their customers better peace of mind.
Otherwise it is a solid gen and one of your only few options if you are looking for a good inverter with remote start.
- Remote start
- Quiet operation
- Long run time
- Good choice of outlets
- Only 1-year warranty
